History of March for Taiwan

Groups of Taiwanese Americans physically marched three times in years 2007, 2009 and 2010 respectively, twice in the US (2007 and 2009) and once (2010) in Taiwan. The purpose of the 2007 march was to commemorate 60th anniversary of 2-28 Massacre of Formosan (Taiwanese) by the Chinese Nationalist army that happened in 1947. The 2009 march was to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Taiwan Relations Act (TRA) which was passed by the Congress in 1978 and signed into law by president Carter in the year 1979. The 2010 march in Taipei, Taiwan was to call for a “Republic of Taiwan” now by the removal of the Republic of China (ROC)!
